Loner

I sit by my window, watching the world
I drink all the water falling from above
Though not a drop touches my tongue
It satiates a certain thing - a deep love

I see  guardedly clad damsels

I see in them a desire to soak
I see racing hearts invisible
I see what the rains reveal

They rekindle something long doused

They whisper to some forgotten shade
They pull without even looking
And I rise from being a Nothing

But when they are gone

I have nothing to watch
Anymore
They abandon me like a door

It's me and the drops again

They trickle down my brows
They all come swift
Intend to become a lot

I recede & remember a fool

And recall her saying of a rule
Her words -  "My Love, My Dear
You're doomed to be an incorrigible loner"

    1. The madness lies in this truth - A hundred people ask you 'Why the heck do you feel lonely ?' You look at them surrounding you and feel lonelier than ever.
