I love you when your scarlet lips pray
And your feather feet turn the fate of my way,
I
love you when you carry the sky in your eyes
And bind the oceans in seraphic smile,
You're
the moonlit verse which heavens wear
An ageless song that clouds shower.
I love you for amaranthine is your loveliness
Your arms a fragile haven for my slowing self
I love you when you kneel with kindness
And touch my barren soul's emptiness.
An ageless song that clouds shower.
I love you for amaranthine is your loveliness
Your arms a fragile haven for my slowing self
I love you when you kneel with kindness
And touch my barren soul's emptiness.
Love the last two lines.Great imagery!

DeleteThere is a certain color to your poem. May be due to some of those beautiful words. And then comes your verses. A wonderful blend of color and love.
ReplyDeleteLove is the only thing that can fill the emptiness meaningfully.
ReplyDeleteBelieve me Tomichan, it has. Undetachably.
DeleteThe closing notes seal the tenderness and desire superbly.
ReplyDeleteIf you say this, then she has won. What are my words if not a heartfelt shot at reflecting her care, my words a humble seeker of her promises. Thank you Umaji.
DeleteThe love expressed in your poems is divine... The words that express this love will fill a desire in any girl to feel and experience it for once in her life ... But when you go deep into the poem through each and every line , it gives a sense of joy to love and be loved and at the same time when you go deep through the lines of the poem you can feel a sore point that is being described through words by the writer through this poem !!
ReplyDeleteHi Lopa,
DeletePerhaps it is hard to separate the melancholy for the poet from the love he feels for her. Thank you so much for dropping by. It's always great to hear from you.
Anupam, this blew my mind. There is such beauty and tenderness. The last two lines take the cake. I love your choice of words..Amaranthine might just be my new favorite word. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the gracious words Hema. In all fairness the credit for discovery of the word Amaranthine must go to someone else. Thank you so much once again.
