But then one step at a time is all that is required. I could relate to every word written in this post because I am still chasing my dream, I can see it but the support factor is missing from a lot of near and dear ones. I stopped worrying about what they will say and what they will feel, I have my dream set, I visualize, I chase and I am getting there, one day at a time. Anupam, you can be...This is a great inspiring post. Anupam, you can become a good philosopher/motivational speaker in future :):)

On a serious note, I would like to bring forward few examples from my life. I have always been interested in writing/reading. In school, my favourite subject was English. I detested science and maths. M grandfather was a journalist. And I wanted to do something in that field, especially print journalism. I always like to keep up with current affairs and reading columns/blogs. When it was time to choose a career, I blindly followed the crowd and took up science in college. I ended up in engineering later. Today I work in an IT industry. In the evenings, I look at myself in the mirror and realize that I am not satisfied with the kind of life I am living. Staring in front of computers throughout the duration of my work doesn't impress me. I am not happy at the end of each day.
Next April, I would be finishing one year at my work place. And then I have decided to give a shot to print journalism. I am going to prepare for various entrance exams of different media institutes which offer courses in this field. I don't want to die with any regrets. I don't want to live with the guilt of not having tried ever. It's never too late to follow your dreams after all. And I would like to carve out a future for myself in writing/editing in a newspaper/magazine. Nothing can beat the thrill that writing gives me. If I am sleeping at 3 am and somebody asks me to write on a topic, I would happily get up and start writing immediately. At the same time, if my manager asks me to finish an assignment in an iPhone project at 9.30 am, I might start making faces. It all depends upon interests. And I am gearing up to follow my interests and aspirations in future, no matter what.
Soulmate https://www.blogger.com/profile/07561468351402048358noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6541136381262666757.post-42353058970313465882013-12-03T19:24:00.124-08:002013-12-03T19:24:00.124-08:00Ritesh, I'm glad that you found time to read m...Ritesh, I'm glad that you found time to read my post. It's good to read your take on the point too. If you read carefully the first line of my post you'll instantly understand where I'm going. I intended to endorse free thinking, and courage to pursue one's dreams and not closed mind and intolerance. To make it further clear, I'll restate a few lines from my post

" Please never for a moment mistake beneficial advice for unwanted hindrance in the path of your goals. That'd be utterly foolish and would lead you to sheer doom. Be smart to ascertain what's best for you, yet be patient to hear out others and be rock solid in your determination."

So you see Ritesh, I too value the advice and points of view of others and I believe in taking everything into account before deciding. The only thing that I've discouraged is being bogged down from following one's aspirations due to peer pressure.

Honestly, I was a little taken aback to read the comparison with Nazism. I offer no such ideas. Personally I believe Hitler was a man of tremendous will and had the guts to see his thoughts translated into action every bit of it. But I condemn what he did to the society of men as a whole. I condemn his thoughts about race superiority. His blindness to the sacred truth that all men are born equal is an example of what intolerance can lead you into. And let us please not dwell in the illusion that if Hitler's ideas would have been opposed in the initial phase then he wouldn't have done what he did. There was consistent opposition to his ideology, but his ideas had been concreted by two men viz. Dr. Leopold Potsch (who taught him German history) and one Dr. J.L. V. Liebenfels who imbibed in him the theory that " the world belonged to the fair skinned and the superior Aryan race..".
It's amazing, how even the most horrific of ideas find takers and shares in the minds of many men. They form masses and with the stroke of luck and by virtue of circumstances they prevail over more and more masses, ultimately leading to chaos.
I appreciate your view Ritesh, but please don't mistake that I'm trying to say to be totally intolerant to others thoughts and advices, as I have clarified above.

Thanks again for dropping by.

Regards Anupam Patrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00179237569294043987noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6541136381262666757.post-66269028183192741332013-12-03T11:29:09.236-08:002013-12-03T11:29:09.236-08:00Nice one Anupam. But I believe you should always let people tell you what to do and the decision should be yours whether you want to do it their way or not, otherwise the negative conscience would not propel your growth. There should be some amount of resilience and negativity to everything otherwise you would never know what is right and what is wrong. Adolf Hitler, formulated and articulated the ideas that came to be known as Nazi ideology. He thought of himself as a deep and profound thinker, convinced that he had found the key to understanding an extraordinarily complex world. In Hitler's view, all groups, races, or peoples (he used those terms interchangeably) carried within them traits that were immutably transmitted from one generation to the next. No individual could overcome the innate qualities of race. All of human history could be explained in terms of racial struggle. Goes without saying that he had an unchallenged ideology. Just imagine if there would have been some opposition to his ideology during his initial phase. The world might have seen a different history.

But I love the way you have projected your thoughts. Keep going bro.Riteshhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05309656674029007831noreply@blogger.com
